Cooperation Agreement with prestigious Universities in Turkey

Universum University has signed cooperation agreement with Hacettepe University in Ankara and has negotiated agreements with Middle East Technical University and Baskent Univeristy also from Ankara .

The agreement with Hacettepe includes: staff and student exchange, conducting of collaborative research project, lectures and organizing symposia, exchange of academic materials and information, promoting of other academic activites as mutually agreed.

The concrete step toward this cooperation is starting of new undergradate program in Pharmacy jointly with Hacettepe Faculty of Pharmacy. The program, diplomas and professors will be all from Hacettepe University.


“Students Academy 2007”

June, 2007

Because of the end of 2007/20008 academic year, Universum University organized its annual “ Students Academy ” where were presented all the achievements and results of this year. After this, different scholarships have been awarded for distinguished students. The title of distinguish student for this years goes to three students:

Allden Pajziti, Nita Luzha and Jeton Rakaj.  


Universum University establishes Institute for Research and Consulting and Career Centre

May, 2007

Institute has already start some research projects and is developing new training modules for a public institution in Kosova. It will have its own publishing board with “Universum Journal”, first volume to be published on September 2007.

Career Centre also will play a key role in between of students and business community. It will also develop two courses called “Professional Career Development” and “Job Searching Strategies” which will be elective for Universum University students.


Universum University with its new Campus in Ferizaj

May, 2007

From 2007/2008 University University will have another campus in the city of Ferizaj , 34 km from capital Prishtina. It will operate with the same programs as Prishtina campus and will be based in the campus of Aga Xhite College , Fan Noli str. 156, Ferizaj.

New adjustments of campus are taking place and everything will be ready for the start of new academic year, on 1 st of October.


Scientific Conference with the topic: “FDI's in post status Kosovo”

Organized by Universum University and attended by Minister of Trade and Industry Mr. Bujar Dugolli, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mining, Mr. Agron Dida, Director of AmCham Ms. Mimoza Kusari, Chief Executive of IPAK (Investment Promotion Agency) Mr. Ejup Fejza, government advicers, policy markers, civil society representative and Universum University professors, at the 29 th of may in the facilities of Universum University was held the scientific conference: “The Role of FDI's in post status Kosovo”.


Universum University at “EduFair 2007”

Universum University was present at the first education fair in Kosova, “EduFair 2007”. A huge number of prospective students visited our stand to learn about opportunities and admissions procedures at our University. The staff of Public Relations Office was very active in advising the prospective students and answer to their questions and requirements.


Honorary Chairman of Universum University, distinguished professor Mehmet Gjevori died at the age of 96

Mehmet Gjevori

Professor Mehmet Gjevori was the pioneer in opening the first schools in Kosova during the World War II. He is the author of the first book for primary schools called “Abetarja”. He served as Honorary Chairman of Universum University since its establishment and has had a very important role in University development and growth.


Cooperation Agreements with University of Tirana, “Marin Barleti”, “Luarasi” and “ZKM” Universities

Universum University has reached Cooperation Agreements with Public University of Tirana and three private Universities, Marin Barleti, Luarasi and ZKM in Albania . Agreements include: student and staff exchange, joint research projects, joint European projects, seminars, symposiums and special lectures which will be held by both faculties during the 2007/2008 academic year.


Second Anglia Network Europe Conference held in Kosova

December, 2006

With the support from Anglia European Centre in Etten-Leur Holland, in 2 nd of December 2006, 90 primary and secondary school teachers came together in Universum University facilities to attend the second conference of Anglia Network Europe which was leaded by its Director, Mr. Arnold Augustijn. During this conference was established Kosovo Steering Committee and teachers got instructions on how to run Anglia exams in Kosovo schools. Also Mr. Augustijn did a very interesting presentation of Anglia Network Europe activities such as examinations, summer activities, teacher training etc.

Universum University is official representative of Anglia Examination Syndicate, England and is member of Anglia Network Europe.


Cooperation Agreements with Kosovo Customs Services, Bank for Private Business and Insurance Company “New Kosova”

During the first semester of 2006/2007 academic year Universum University has signed different agreements with very important institutions and companies such as Kosovo Customs, BpB and New Kosova. The agreements includes exchange of experience, participating in joint research projects and the internship opportunities for Universum University students.

Colleges That Exceed Their Challenges

Holanda

“AGA XHITE” and “UNIVERSUM” College, send on educational camp participation, 10 of their students in Summer Camp in De Heen, Holland. 

In continuation of advance international program completion “AGA XHITE” and “UNIVERSUM” College, send 10 of their students for two weeks in Anglia Summer Camp 2006 participation in De Heen, organized by “Anglia Network Europe” Holland.
Students, who will be staying in this camp for two weeks, have excellent opportunity to learn English language from daily programs and activities that are being held in this summer educational summer camp. Also, the kosovar college students have the opportunity to meet with their peers coming from Holland, Belgium, and England.   

Two kosovar colleges already have been represented by their students in Europe previously, since 12 scholarship winners of   “AGA XHITE” and “UNIVERSUM” College, right now are enjoying with their participation for 7 weeks english language Summer School in Chichester College in England.  

Starting from September, 2005 UNIVERSUM Educational Group(which is consisted of AGA XHITE College, UNIVERSUM College and UNIVERSUM University College) is a full member of Global College Network, a network with worldwide college members coming from Thailand, Japan, South Korea, United States of America, England, Holland, Denmark. GCN main goal is to provide exchanges among students and professors, to strengthen ties of mutual understanding, friendship, and personal and professional development, to enhance the education opportunities of our student bodies and to contribute to international peace and understanding.

First result from this coming membership in GCN is our transferred student in Nagasaki Junior College, Japan. Also awaiting transfer (October 2006) of two UNIVERSUM University students in Johnson County Community College, Kansas City U.S.A.

Next year similar camps are going to be organized in Kosovo, in co-operation with “Anglia Network Europe” and “Euro School”, Holland.
